# Range slider
Let visitors answer by dragging a handle between two ends instead of typing a number.
The **Range Slider** field lets customers select a number by dragging a handle along a track. Itβs useful for budgets, quantities, satisfaction scores, and other numeric ranges.
## π§ How to Set It
In the form editor, click **Add element** > select **Range Slider** to add the field to your form.

## π οΈ Field-Specific Settings
### π’ Min Value, Max Value & Step
* **Min Value:** The lowest selectable number.
* **Max Value:** The highest selectable number.
* **Step:** The interval between selectable values.
### π² Prefix & Suffix
Add text before or after the number to show currency or units.
* **Prefix:** Appears before the number, such as `$500`.
* **Suffix:** Appears after the number, such as `500 kg`.
### π― Default Value
Set the initial value shown when the form loads. It must be within the minimum and maximum range.
## βοΈ How It Works
Customers drag the slider handle to select a value within the range you define.
* The **Min Value** and **Max Value** set the available range.
* The **Step** sets how much the value changes each time the handle moves.
* The **Default Value** is selected when the form first loads.
* The selected value is included in the form submission.
**Example:** With a minimum of `0`, maximum of `1000`, and step of `100`, customers can select `0`, `100`, `200`, and so on, up to `1000`.
